Composition of Mineral Insulated Cables


Ordinary wires and cables are insulated by organic polymer materials, so it is very easy to carbonize under flame conditions and lose insulation. Flexible mineral insulated fire-proof cableis mainly composed of inorganic minerals or mineral compounds. It can not cause fire and can not be burned or flame-retarded. These materials generally have a melting point of more than 1300ºC (the melting point of copper is 1085ºC), so fire-resistant cables can perform normal transmission functions even in flame conditions.

1.Performance of Fire-Resistin BS 6387                                                                   
                                                                   
Protocol C subjects the cable under test to a flame via direct impingement  a temperature attack of 950ºC.      Protocol W subjects the cable under test to a flame via direct impingement a temperature attack of 650ºC with direct application of water simulating a sprinkler system.                                                                   
Protocol Z subjects the cable Under 950 degrees of fire, it can withstand knocking without breakdown.      

2. Waterproof                                                       
                                                              
   Flexible mineral insulated cables adopt metal sleeve continuous forming process, with no joints   in the middle. The phenomenon of water intake at the joints is eliminated.
